Saturday Night Live has been a staple for American culture for about the last 45 years. It has allowed the nation to poke fun at itself as well as hold our entertainers, celebrities, and politicians accountable for their behavior and antics. Even through tragedy, they have allowed us to laugh. Growing up, if I was home on a Saturday night, I knew the I would watch and learn comedic lessons from the masters, knowing that these comedians were great in their own right, but realizing that someday they would venture out on their own and make movies and specials that would entertain us for years…Billy Madison, anyone? See a future post about this film. Here is a link to my favorite comedians: https://amzn.to/2xwsJDi
Fun skits: Mike Myers and Dana Carvey take on Wayne’s World and Chris Farley dances with Patrick Swayze. Classic.
Also, last night it just won an Emmy for best Variety/Sketch Series!
